Griffith Design Temps - Filling a need within the interior design industry.

Sullivan Griffith founded Griffith Design Temps in 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born and raised in Atlanta and graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in Apparel & Textiles and General Business. As part of the renowned textiles program, Sullivan interned for the iconic lifestyle brand, Lisa Perry, in New York City. During her time at Lisa Perry, Sullivan worked alongside the designer and her famous artist collaborators. After graduation, she moved to Washington DC where she spent two years strengthening her business management skills.

Upon returning to Atlanta in 2015, she returned to the textile industry by working for a showroom at ADAC. After a rewarding two years observing and working in the Atlanta interior design market, she identified a need for a specific kind of employee for interior designers - an employee who could be called on a whim, at the last minute, and isn’t looking for full or even part time work. With the industry being as cyclical as it is, a full or part time employee is not always needed, and Sullivan immediately made plans to launch Griffith Design Temps to fulfill the gap for temporary work.

Griffith Design Temps is excited to provide interior designers in the Atlanta area with temporary employees for things like photo shoots and installations to office management and fabric sourcing. Please see a comprehensive list of everything we do under our services page. We look forward to helping you and your team be successful!

As a former showroom consultant, Sullivan Griffith’s insider knowledge—particularly the myriad needs of interior design firms—inspired her to branch out and challenge herself. Griffith began running simple errands for former clients and noticed that designers are almost always looking for short-term help. Enter Griffith Design Temps (that’s @msgtemps), an hourly as-needed service offered to Atlanta’s best designers. Services provided, including pulling memos, sourcing products, and creating estimates and proposals, save design firms much-needed time, hassle and (most importantly) money. With a range of clients from Anna Braund and Lauren DeLoach to The Jane Group and A. Wooten Interiors, Griffith’s specialized services are certainly drawing a world-class crowd, proving that temps are no longer the underdogs when it comes to big business. –EK

SHE HAD A VISION PODCAST

Atlanta, GA: Griffith Design Temps - Sullivan Griffith

Sullivan Griffith, the owner of design temp agency, Griffith Design temps launched in 2017 in Atlanta GA. Sullivan saw a void of much needed work in the interior design industry. She noticed in between jobs that she was easily getting hourly work across various big and small designers who needed the help, but as an as needs basis. In the interview, Sullivan breaks down her thought process of starting with this lightbulb moment into launching and growing Griffith Design Temps over the past few years. A major lesson learned along her journey we discussed was the dreaded subject of corporate tax. This is a classic case situation of being a small business owner that everyone should listen in to. It was great to hear how Sullivan faced the issue, learned from it the issue and moved forward.
